Abdul'Rauf Hashmi is a Pakistani politician who was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan on a reserved seat for minorities in the 2002 general election. He is the president of All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organization, an Islamic student organization which had participated in the protests against the desecration of the Kaaba by American actor Tom Cruise in December, 2001.
Hashmi was born on 15 December 1952 in Karachi, Sindh Province of Pakistan. He received his early education at the Cambridge School, Karachi. He had his higher education at Government College University where he studied BSc Naval Engineering in 1973 and later received his Master's degree in Maritime Studies in 1975

Hashmi was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan on a reserved seat for minorities in the 2002 general election and served until 2006 when he quit national politics to focus on his business activities. Hashmi is an active member of All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organization (APMSO), an organization which had participated in the protests against the desecration of the Kaaba by American actor Tom Cruise in December, 2001. He has also been active in politics over the years, holding various positions with political parties including Awami Muslim League (AML), Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) and Pakistan Muslim League (N).
He is married to Seema Hashmi and has two sons Abdul Rauf (Haider) Hashmi and Haider Rauf Hashmi both live in Dubai.
